Just because someone has reportedly in the past doesn't mean everything they say is accurate. Look at just two examples, Brian Williams and Dan Rather, two nightly news Giants but we're either fired or demoted not because all their stories were untrue but because one story was wrong. This maybe true but a single copy isn't proof. I could make a letter like that in a few moments.

Latest son of thunder video on YouTube and the 07 letter to the elders.
by Crazyguy inin his video he mentions an elders letter sent to germany in 07 , i believe.
in this letter if i'm understanding it correctly the elders are being instructed to send most of any information on hand about child abuse in their congregation to headquarters and any thing else they have at home or in their personal possession to destroy it.
this seams to be the most obvious case of wt telling their elders to destroy information.

Has this letter been confirmed as authentic and not just someone just making it up on their word program and putting it out there.

Anointed Ratios
by Labate inanother recent topic got me thinking.
has there ever been any kind of study of the ratio of male to female anointed?
if the female anointed will be co-rulers in heaven with morris and company, why are they not represented as gb members and helpers before armageddon arrives?.

I am not defending Watchtower, but you would also have to have the same complaints for the mainstream denominations of Islam, Catholicism, Judism and to even some degree Shintoism and other non-abrahamic religions.

we have a laid off bethelite with an engineering degree!
by nowwhat? inthis guy have been at bethel for 25 years when he could have been making 75-100 thousand a year as an engineer.
so they kick him to the curb so they don't have to house him and his wife anymore.
they run into a problem at warwick and they ask him to come back for 3 weeks.

They are still accepting new Bethelites but it is no longer a career it is an experience. You won't be a lifer anymore. The jobs that can be done from a remote location they are doing that, but printing, maintenance construction and things that can't be done remotely are still being done inside Bethel. Even some Legal and Service department work is being done by remote workers.

The big mistake of jw.org property management
by Gorbatchov intoday i read some news story's about the property deals of jw.org in brooklyn.

If you are selling the building where laundry was and you're not closing Brooklyn down totally you're going to bring in the cost to move laundry from one building to another for a short period of time, it can be said for any number of departments, from offices to maintenance shops. You would have to bring in the expense to make another building or floor work for that process, and if it is not for a long enough period of time then they don't get an ROI.

The trouble with selling in stages is again if they are not actively being used for their "charity" mission it can be tasked. a charity cannot just sit on empty building forever and not do anything in them. Also, you would have to split up the bethel family to another site and keep support people to keep maintaining the sites.

It falls within the fair use of a copyrighted material. As long as it is not distinguishable by a common person and it is not key in the material it is perfectly allowed under US Copyright Law.

Also if Watchtower rented out the buildings, they would have one of two options. To either hire people to manage the facilities such as renting out units, cleaning and maintaining units, which would be a huge expense. The other option would be that they would have to keep a contingency of volunteers on site, and that would cost having to house, feed and other basic needs that other bethelites receive. If you are renting to commercial clients that are spending big money to rent out a unit, they expect repairs to be done immediately not when an LDC volunteer can make it or if a Bethelite can drop their normal job to get down to Brooklyn from Patterson, Walkhill or Warwick, they would need people in the city ready to repair any issue immediately.

Hecce: your right. Tax exempt status is not just based on who owns it but what it is being used for. While Watchtower would let non Bethelites stay in the Patterson in they had to pay real estate taxes on that land. There is even a court case in Pennsylvania because a congregation bought an empty piece of land and the city denied that piece of property tax exempt status because there was no "church" on the land, and the court found that for there to be tax exempt status the land has to be used for the religious services or to advance their mission.

Why are you calling this an academic article? She does not reference any studies or other academic resources other than dictionaries. She did not indicate her academic credentials nor a thesis, nor was it published in a peer-reviewed journal. Her assertions are correct but this is not an academic article it is an opinion piece.
